S.U drivers meet V.C; withdraw SUEWA’s agitation; pledge to join duties

headed by Ali Gohar Dayo, Atta Mohammad Pathan, Abdullah, Iqbal Laghari and Abid Chandio on Friday held a meeting with the vice chancellor Prof Dr. Nazir A. Mughal and pledged to come back to their duties from Monday without any pre-conditions After vowing to surrender from the agitation of Sindh University Employees workers’ association (SUEWA).Image The vice chancellor on the occasion showed green signal of providing them with full legal support in the cases lodged against them.
ImageThe drivers of the university told the vice chancellor that they wanted to resume their duties peacefully without any pre-conditions adding that they ought to be allowed to do so.
ImageThe delegation met vice chancellor Prof Dr. Nazir A. Mughal at his office wherein registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed, Dr Sarfraz Solangi, Ghulam Mohammad Bhutto, Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi and Imran Halepoto also participated.
ImageHowever, the vice chancellor Dr. Mughal allowed them to resume their duties from upcoming Monday except any impediment. He said that he would extend his full legal support to all employees will rejoin their duties on Monday.

JAMSHORO: The Syndicate meeting of university of Sindh Jamshoro held on Sunday under the chair of the vice chancellor Dr. Nazir A. Mughal to discuss the ongoing situation in the varsity and to pave a better way in a bid to run the university efficiently and smoothly. It decided not to remove any official including registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo at the behest of Sindh University Employees Workers Association (SUEWA).

The meeting was attended by Rais Ahmed Khan, Advocate Jhamat Jhethanand, Dr. Anwer Ali G. Syed, Dr. Sarfraz Solangi, Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi, Imran Halepoto, Badar Soomro, Dr. Mumtaz Bhutto, Dr. Asad Larik, Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Ansari, Mohammad Nawaz Narejo and Dr. Imdad Ismaeli.
The university syndicate unanimously rejected the demand of SUEWA about the removal of registrar. It agreed in the best interest of varsity to continue talks with protesting employees’ leaders to bring them to the right direction as they went astray.
In the meeting, the members jointly constituted a five-member committee under the convener ship of Prof. Anwer Ali Shah G. Syed whereas Dr. Sarfraz Solangi, Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi, Imran Halepoto and Dr. Imdad Ismaili are included as members of the committee which has been made authorized to initiate negotiations with the office-bearers of SUEWA and its recommendations would be brought into the next meeting of syndicate that has been called in by the end of prevailing month.
It is also decided that the normal relations with the employees would be maintained for the peaceful academic environment on the campus. 
Talking to a private TV channels after syndicate meeting, the vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal said that all the legal and genuine demands of the employees would be met whereas no blackmailing would be acceptable at any cost. 
He said that unruly & disrupting water supply to the administrative block (AC-II), girls’ hostel and colony was an act of terrorism adding that the SUEWA had attacked police by hurling stones at them which caused the injuries of some police personnel including an ASP. Afterwards, the police in the response lodged cases against them to discourage such trend of taking the law in the hands.

S.U academic convocation’s place changed

JAMSHORO: The academic convocation 2011 of the Sindh University scheduled to be held on February 23will take place in the auditorium of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto convention centre (SMBBCC) situated at Sindh University Allama I.I Kazi campus Jamshoro instead of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah girls’ gymnasium (MFJGG). Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo has issued a circular also in this connection.

It may be noted that over 1200 persons can be seated in the newly prepared auditorium and for the same reason a minor change has been made to hold academic convocation here instead of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah Girls Gymnasium at University of Sindh Jamshoro.

Sindh University to hire private security guards in a bid to ensure peaceful environment on the campus

JAMSHORO: Sindh University vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal on Wednesday chaired a meeting of university officials in which decisions were taken to hire private security guards for making the university’s environment more peaceful and start work on employees’ housing society phase-3.

The meeting was held at the vice chancellor house which was attended by Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed, Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaeli, Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Prof. Mohammad Yousif Pardesi, Prof. Dr. Naem Tariq Narejo, Dr. Sarfraz Solangi, Mohammad Ali Roshan Pathan, Director Estate Usman Mangi and other officials.

The meeting also decided to hire private security guards to make certain the peaceful edifying environment on the campus. In this regard, the security companies would be contacted to provide the services of private guards. Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed about the convocation which is likely to be held on February 23, 2013.

The vice chancellor Dr. Nazir A. Mughal was proposed the newly prepared auditorium hall situated at Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto research chair and convention centre (MBBRC&CC) for the academic convocation of the varsity. He on the occasion accepted the proposal and constituted another committee to review the auditorium hall and to report him as soon as possible.

 

The meeting discussed on the issue of housing society and later constituted a 10-member management committee to initiate the process, finalization of land, sizes of plots and development charges; it has been asked to start work so that its final findings should be presented before the syndicate.

 The management committee includes Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Project Drector Ahmed Ali Abbasi, Dr. Naeem Tariq Narejo, syndicate members Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi, Imran Halepoto, secretary SUTA Azhar Ali Shah, The representatives of officers’ association Mohammad Ali Roshan Pathan, Abdul Majeed Panhwar, SUEWA president Ghulam Naboi Bhalai and Ishtiaq Arbab. The committee is assigned to carry out the selection of land, sizes of plots, development charges and registration of the society which is named as Shaheed Mohtarama Bnazir Bhutto Sindh University employees’ housing society Phase-III.

S.U V.C nominates PVC Mirpurkhas as secretary of academic convocation

 

JAMSHORO: The vice chancellor of Sindh University Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal has nominated pro-vice chancellor Mirpurkhas campus Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili as secretary of academic convocation 2011 which is to be held on February 23, 2013 in the auditorium of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto convention center  University of Sindh Jamshoro.  Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo has issued a notification as well in this regard.

Students financial aid office setup at S.U

JAMSHORO: The authorities of University of Sindh Jamshoro have established students’ financial aid office (SFAO). A notification in this regard has also been issued.

According to the notification, the vice chancellor Dr. Nazir A. Mughal under powers vested in him under section 14 (3) of the university of Sindh act, 1972 is pleased to establish students’ financial aid office (SFAO).

 However, it will work under the existing setup of planning & development cell in the university to facilitate the financially week students.
